About Beth Waite

Beth Waite is certified as a speech-language pathologist by the American Speech and Hearing Association.  She has been certified by RESNA (Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America) as an Assistive Technology Practitioner.  During the past  22 years she has focused on augmentative communication and assistive technology applications for people with severe physical and/or cognitive disabilities. She provides support for educators and students with learning disabilities and those on the Autism Spectrum, developmental preschool classrooms, and programs designed for children who are medically fragile.

Beth has developed and taught courses in the School of Education on the  Indiana University-Purdue University (IUPUI) Campus  in Indianapolis.

DO NOT call Beth if you are looking for a presenter who stands behind a podium reading her notes in a slow, agonizing monotone!   As a presenter and trainer, she brings high energy and enthusiasm to all her presentations.  Beth also has been known to throw things at the audience (typically great door prizes that everyone fights over).

Beth is a past recipient  of The Alpha Award which is  presented by the Indiana Association of Rehabilitation Facilities to the outstanding direct service provider of the year.

She also works with amazingly talented people who often find themselves presenting with her on a variety of topics while simultaneously wondering "when did I agree to do this?"

Beth's philosophy on training others:

"My goal for participants is":

  •  everyone will leave one of my trainings with at least one new idea they can implement that day.
  • everyone will leave with tons of ideas they can implement in the week following the presentation and many, many more for the future.
  • everyone will have had fun!
